Property Owner’s Association (POA)
A property owner’s association is a collective of property owners who work together to buy assets for the group. Unlike an HOA, which oversees day-to-day life in a neighborhood, a POA primarily focuses on real estate and shared amenities. POAs have fewer restrictions on residents’ homes, with most rules focusing on common areas or shared amenities. Although they have fewer rules, many POAs operate with an elected board of directors and conduct elections to fulfill residents’ needs.
