Bylaws
State law requires associations to operate according to bylaws, which are written rules governing the organization. Bylaws govern how an organization operates and how it governs itself. While bylaws differ dramatically from organization to organization, they all define structure, roles, and responsibilities for the board of directors and members. These rules offer the foundation for the association’s activities, providing a framework for how it will achieve its goals. While bylaws are important, they should also change with the times to reflect industry changes and member expectations.
