Success Story: Sun City Community Association of Huntley
Client Profile:
Sun City Community Association of Huntley is a planned residential community centered on an active adult lifestyle. Located 40 miles west of downtown Chicago, Sun City Huntley is made up of approximately 5,400 homes with almost 10,000 residents.
Election Challenge:
The primary role of our Executive Team is to ensure that our staff, facilities and amenities provide our residents with the active adult lifestyle pledged by Del Webb communities. I am responsible for the overall administration and human resources that support Sun City Huntley and also serve as the advisor for our election committee.
The annual vote is a paper-ballot election where three or four directors are elected on a rotating basis. Even with a number of volunteers assisting, our main challenge with the election was tabulating the ballots. On election day, the number of votes tallied is as much as a small city – or more! In addition, making sure everyone associated with the election has all the answers they need to be comfortable with the process can be a challenge.
